About the Book

This is a 51 page paperback memoir that tells a story of a four-year-old who aimed to achieve the unimaginable coming up against challenges she was determined to overcome because she believed in herself. Age was seen as a limitation against her; race and height in some instances, but sheer self-belief and determination kept the little girl going. Years later she is still a work in progress, moving towards her destiny but living her purpose and most of her dreams. Determined and grateful that she was able to learn to tap into the mind (her spirit) to overcome obstacles many thought she would not, she continues to pursue and push boundaries against all odds. She ran races that were thought to be difficult, she kept up with her peers despite a significant age gap and she studied to qualify and become one of the youngest clinical psychologist (MSc.) at 23, an age many thought unlikely. You can do it too, you can become the best version of yourself. May this book help you to see the importance of shutting out the noise, mastering the self additionally to illustrate to you how to tap into the mind and have self-belief that will push you to finish strong no matter the limitations set for you.

The book is aimed to encourage victims of abuse by normalizing some of the experiences and offer hope that one can survive fully provided they sit with the pain until it transcends; it shows that no one is immune to abuse and that leaving is only the first part of becoming a survivor because there is a need to work on the self (with help if need be) to fully heal. It is aimed also at the supporters of victims of abuse to better understand the challenges the victims face. Hopefully it will also bring to the attention of the abusers the pain they are causing and the need to seek their own individual help for the underlying causes of the abusive behaviour.
