About the Book
Dr Keitumetse "Tumi" Mashego is a Clinical & Sports Psychologist (PhD; MBA; MSc.; BScHon; BSc); Key Note Speaker; Mindset and Performance Life Coach. Trapped in Love is an A5, 101 paged thought provoking memoir about her journey to overcome emotional abuse. The book is aimed to encourage victims of abuse by normalizing some of the experiences and offer hope that one can survive fully provided they sit with the pain until it transcends; it shows that no one is immune to abuse and that leaving is only the first part of becoming a survivor because there is a need to work on the self (with help if need be) to fully heal. It is aimed also at the supporters of victims of abuse to better understand the challenges the victims face. Hopefully it will also bring to the attention of the abusers the pain they are causing and the need to seek their own individual help for the underlying causes of the abusive behaviour.

2. Recently partnered from 2023 with Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) in association with JP Morgan “Victory is Hers” Programme offering group psychological support for the participants (2023 100% where GBV survivors; 2024 - 50% are survivors of GBV who are entrepreneurs) additionally team capacitation for the facilitators.

9. Dr. Tumi was profiled and interviewed at Tshwane Fm (21/3/24) on the TUT (TSB) Alumni Talk Show. She emphasized her academic journey (PhD; MBA; MSc Clinical Psychology; BSc (Hon); BSc Psychology & Human Physiology; Cert: Sports Psychology; Industrial&Org Psych; Aids Risk Management); career as a clinical and sports psychologist; performance, mindset & life coach practicing as an independent registered practitioner since 2006. She focused additionally on being an author of a memoir titled “Trapped in Love” about her own personal journey to overcome emotional abuse; bringing in issues of gender based violence (GBV) and how to address in institutions of higher learning. Dr Keitumetse was an invited speaker at the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) dialogue titled "Conversations with Women about abuse and trauma" with special focus on the covid19 pandemic and resultant trauma in relation to raising awareness amongst Women (August 2021 Women's Month) (17/8/21)
14. Dr Keitumetse was a guest speaker at an event for Women on Women's day (09/08/2021). Topic: Prioritize self-love, self-care and your healing journey.
15. 16 days of activism of no violence against women and children at the national council of provinces (NCOP) parliamentary dialogue (27/11/2020).
